Sound Transfer

Transfer your old vinyl records or cassette tapes to CD. Perfect for archiving your precious memories for years to come these transfers allow you to listen to your old recordings once again this saves them from the damages of time.

How are my audio recordings transferred?

First your media is recorded into our computer systems with our state of the art equipment, makings sure to avoid any issues with clipping that can be caused by recordings being made with some equipment. Once captured a technician reviews your audio, normalizing the volume to a standard level and applying noise reduction if needed.

The technician then applies track points to your audio, lining them up to song transitions if applicable or every 5 minutes of audio otherwise. Finally your audio is burned to CDs as tested for quality.

How much can I get on one CD?

We produce standard audio CDs which have a maximum play time of 80 minutes. Shorter media can be combined but we recommend and normally transfer each item to its own disc as it is easier to locate what you are looking for. In some cases we will actually need to produce multiple CDs for one source. Cassette tapes are frequently found in 90 minute and sometimes even 120 minute lengths, though the 90 minute tapes usually have 10 or more minutes of unused tape that can be cut from the recording.

Can you eliminate hiss/pop/crackle or other noises?

Some noise can be removed from audio recordings without much effort and if possible we will remove as much as we can. Unfortunately most audio noise is very difficult or impossible to remove without harming the quality of the recording as a whole.
